And that about sums it up.
To say this is bad would be pretty accurate but it is a "so bad it's good" movie that has been lost in VHS Hell having never received a DVD or Blu-ray release. It is to be noted that the quality of Psycho Cop is 480p upscaled to 1080p, however the framing is 4X3 not 16X9. It appears it was shot as an open matte with cropping intended had it been released beyond VHS but that did not happen.
There are versions that run 1 hr 27 min and some that run 1hr 22 min. The difference is not content, It is the speed. For ceratin releases the movie was sped up by 5% making the running time shorter. Here it runs at the correct speed and is the full 1hr 27 min.
PSYCHO COP 2
As a extra bonus you get Psycho Cop 2 (aka Psycho Cop Returns) and it is an exclusive edit called the Schlocksploitation Edit. This edit trims out the fluff and gets to the good stuff. Pscyho Cop 2 had been edited for it's home video releases (known as the R-Rated version) and all of the gore and sex/nudity was removed. The uncut version only aired on Cinemax. This is neither and both. It's edited differently but it includes all of the gore and sex/nudity.[! identifier_exists:FALSE!]
